He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Fresh Hope for Mental Health, an international network of peer-to-peer Christian mental health support groups and resources. In addition, he is the author of Holding to Hope: Staying Sane While Loving Someone with a Mental Illness. In this interview, we discuss why he decided to become a pastor, why his life fell apart after becoming a pastor, how people of faith should view mental health struggles, why we default to treating mental illness with medication, how a person can be saved, the difference between reading and studying the Bible, why pastors should go to seminary, and much more.
