FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

about Undaunted.Life and Kyle Thompson

Why did you start Undaunted.Life?

Growing up, Kyle saw a chasm between whom he would have described as “godly men” and “manly men”. He did not think that the same man could be both. He carried that dichotomy into his early 20s. It was only after he started to REALLY read the Gospels for himself that he realized that Jesus was the perfect, preeminent version of a godly and manly man. He knew that he wasn’t alone in thinking that a man couldn’t be both godly and manly at the same time, so he set out to create content that would encourage men to see Jesus as both the Lamb of God AND the Lion of Judah; perfect grace AND perfect Truth. It started with devotionals, evolved into a podcast, and it keeps expanding from there.

What is the mission of Undaunted.Life?

We are here to equip men to push back darkness. We do that by providing content that forges spiritual, mental, and physical resilience.

Why do you care about manhood and masculinity so much?

Just about every societal and cultural ill can be traced back to the presence of bad men and/or the absence of good men. We currently live in a world where the basic and beneficial forms of masculinity are deemed too “toxic” to teach or model to the next generation. Boys are growing up thinking that the things that make them unique and awesome are somehow a plague that they need rid their souls of. At Undaunted.Life, we want men of all ages to embrace true, biblical masculinity. We believe wholeheartedly that, “Hard times make strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.” We will work hard to make sure strong men are equipped to do their role.

Our audience is predominantly Christian, male, and politically Conservative. A large portion of our audience could definitely fit into the “rough around the edges” category. We have a very diverse audience that includes pastors, layman, Christians, non-Christians, active duty or retired military, business owners, executives, LEOs, first responders, hunters, authors, fighters, construction workers, salesmen, etc. However, we do have a healthy amount of women and young men that consume our content as well. In general, we appeal to a wide audience that wants to see men step into a life of purpose, duty, and heavy responsibility.

What types of people are in your audience?

Why is your content so aggressive in nature?

Most “men’s ministry” content is just women’s content repackaged for men. The tone is tenor is appealing to a more feminine temperament. We do not have women and children in mind when we create our content. Some of our content may seem harsh and abrasive. If it seems that way, it is probably because we meant it to be that way.

How do you get money for operations?

We are a ministry that runs largely on individual donors. We get some money from advertisement agreements on the podcast, but the overwhelming majority of our operations is paid for by the generous donations from our individual supporters and listeners.

What kinds of subjects do you cover on Undaunted.Life: A Man’s Podcast?

In general, we cover faith, culture, and politics. In a normal week, we do a group bible study episode called “The Forging Table”, an interview episode, and then a solo episode with just Kyle. Also, once a month, we host Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin for “From the Senate with Markwayne Mullin” and Joby Martin for “Ask a Pastor with Joby Martin.”

That is completely contextual to the child and their parents. Just a reminder, our content is targeted at rugged adult, Christian, Conservative men. We do not have children in mind when creating our content.

Is your content suitable for children?

We have no formal affiliations with any church or Christian denomination.

What books should I be reading?

We have a book list on our site called the 100 Books Every Modern Christian Man Should Read. That would be a great place to start!

Will you ever write a book?

Why does your ministry talk about abortion and the Pro-Life cause so much?

If you don’t think morally and rightly as it pertains to human life, it will be almost impossible to take you seriously on any other subject. The most vulnerable human beings on the plant are the unborn, and we will do everything we can to protect them and educate the public about why being Pro-Life is the only moral position. Check out our free PDF where we equip you to engage with the top 18 Pro-Abortion arguments.

Will you ever produce rites of passage content for parents of sons?

Stay tuned.

Because it’s awesome! Everyone has their preferred taste in music; ours just happens to be much heavier than most people in the general public. We created a Christian Metal Playlist on Spotify to help people discover bands that honor God with their music.

Why is the intro/outro music to the podcast heavy metal?
