AZIZULLAH AZIZ | How I Evaded the Taliban and Escaped Afghanistan (Ep. 416)
In this episode, we welcome Azizullah Aziz to the show. He is an Afghanistan native of Afghanistan that served the US for 15 years as a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) combat Interpreter, facilitator, and cultural advisor. He served side-by-side with Chad Robichaux on all eight of his JSOC deployments in Afghanistan. He’s the Aziz that is the main subject of the new book Saving Aziz: How the Mission to Help One Became a Calling to Rescue Thousands from the Taliban. In this interview, we go over what it was like for him growing up in Afghanistan, how learning English helped him build his country and eventually save his life, what he thought about the United States when our military invaded his country after the 9/11 attacks, the close calls he had with the Taliban as he was trying to escape the country following the Biden Administration’s withdrawal, if he ever thinks he’ll be able to see his home country again, and much more. Let’s get into it…
